I am the President of my Toastmasters club, Captivating Dialogue, this year and I’ve decided to keep track of my presidency via a Video Log. I know, I know, “Al, how could you be the president of anything that doesn’t involve gardening or ping pong balls.” I’m going to call it, “Anyone Can Be President.” I’ll share what’s happening, and any mistakes and good things I accomplish. I’m taking over from my fellow Toastmaster and good friend Pam who did an excellent job. Our biggest issue is, of course, attendance. We hover near 10, despite being North Raleigh’s only day time club! I think a good mantra for my era is not to be too powerful, and include everyone in decisions, and not try to, say, control the price of eggs, for which I have no jurisdiction. We meet at Christ Baptist Church, which is one of our best rooms ever; large, embedded TV/Monitor, comfortable chairs and enough space to do anything. If you click the picture below you’ll see the first episode. I’ve already learned a lot about filming yourself. Be brief! The ongoing series is here
